I noticed that photics' forum vanished or moved or something a month or so ago. I also found it occasionally hard to navigate.
That said, I don't think that all non-elite sites are seen as equal. One could as easily just make the cut for being an official fansite as just miss the cut for being an elite fansite. There's only two tiers for classification, though.
Edit: GWO and GWGuru are the only two fansites I follow, so I'm happy to see they're both elite.

Yeah, GWG rocks.
And funnily enough, I was browsing France Guild Wars and one of the threads was almost identical word for word - well, english word for french word - to one I saw here. Right down to the "La fontion recherche est ton ami".

Photics decided to piss off his alliance by kicking people/guilds, so 3/4 of the guild left and almost all the guilds in the alliance left to form their own (Keys alliance). Shortly after (unrelated) his website was hacked and he still hasn't restored it.

GWG is the best. Even if they lost elite fansite status, they would be the best still. The only problems is the search and downtimes like someone has said. For those times I head to GWO, which I kind of dread.

Guru is the main GW site that I visit. Thanks to everyone here for all their hardwork.
Also, when you people visit the site, do Inde and all the others a favor and click some of the ads. Every little bit helps.

Usually, a fast, dedicated server with a good quality connection is what's needed.
vBulletin usually does very well with high traffic sites. But it seems that Guru is having some issues on the backend.

I would just like to add my congratulations to GWGuru along with everybody else, and also my thanks. I find this to be the most interesting of the fan sites, and will continue to use it every day!

I don't honestly see how Guru could ever not be an elite fansite, with Inde running it.

GWG ftw. I always find it amusing that GWO uses a policy where it's forbidden to even mention some of the other fansites.
Keep up the good job guys, this site truly deserves its elite status.

I had a feeling they wouldn't be an elite site much longer. Guild Wars Guru is still the best imo x]
